Passenger FAQs

A: No. Buying a ticket guarantees you a seat. Seat selection is first-come-first-served.

A: We will begin boarding exactly one hour prior to departure. We recommend you arrive at least one hour and 30 minutes in advance.

A: Unfortunately, we are not able to do so. We make every effort to depart on-time. If you are not present by departure time, we will leave without you and you will not be granted a refund.

Q: When should I purchase my ticket?
A: You should purchase your tickets at least 2-3 weeks prior to your trip.

A: The cost for our service and the distance the bus must travel does not change. We charge a fixed per-seat fee whether a child or an adult uses it.

A: A standby-passenger is a person who purchases a ticket even though the bus is full and hopes that another passenger does not show up. A standby-passenger is NOT guaranteed a seat.

A: We treat boarding the Motorcoach as seriously as if you were entering the actual TDCJ-Unit. We recommend you review the TDCJ-Unit Visitation Rules to determine what you can, and what you can’t carry on the Motorcoach.

Q: I don't see a TDCJ-Unit that I would like to visit. What should I do?
We currently travel to 19 of the 110 TDCJ-Units. We will continue to add new routes and travel to more units over the coming months.

Q: Are there any other rules I need to know about?
Read the TDCJ Visitation Rules handbook on this website to prepare for your visit.

Q: Is there a physical location to purchase tickets?
Yes, you can purchase tickets at any Ace Check Cashing location in DFW.
